Since 2011, the Fondation du Pélican de Mie et Pierre Hippert-Faber yearly awards scholarships to PhD students from the doctoral School for Systems and Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Luxembourg. The Pélican Grant is meant to help students with additional expenses that are not covered by their individual research grant. In particular, the winners are free to use this grant at their convenience, with the aim to increase the quality of their research work. Mohaned decided to dedicate the stipend to finance a short-term stay abroad to participate in a training course on mass spectrometry at Imperial College London and thus deepen his knowledge on the set-up of mass spectrometry, method development and acquisition of data.
